Mahindra XUV 3XO: In the congested compact SUV battle ground, Mahindra has launched the all new soldier – the XUV 3X0. This is not just a nip and tuck upgrade over its high selling current generation car rather it’s a complete remake that hopes to make itself heard in a segment with established names.

The XUV 3XO is Mahindra’s show of strength and determines what’s in store from the brand in the form of imagery and technology.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Evolution in Design

Mahindra XUV 3XO

The XUV 3XO lands with a massive new face. A new grille with a series of vertical slats that have a hint of chrome makes the W401 look nothing else but Mahindra; it also connects the W401, visually at least, to its bigger SUV brothers.

Attending this centerpiece are stripier LED headlamps with unique C-shaped daytime running lamps for more visibility and design appeal.

Up the side profile, the XUV 3XO appears compact enough to weave through city streets but it also has raised ground clearance and strong wheel arches that give it more off-the-road appeal.

The floating roof style, along with the contrast colours give it a hint of modern elegance to the side profile.

At the rear are joined LED tail lights for a broad stance look alongside a sculpted tailgate, and high and proud bumper to provide a robust SUV-like image with integrated skid plate parts.

Overall, the exterior has a pretty good balance of sporty aggression and quiet elegance–not easy to do in this class.

Cabin Craftsmanship

If you go inside, it’s even more clear. The overall design of the dashboard has been redone and it’s now focused around an even larger touchscreen infotainment system that sits seemingly floating above the center console.

Fit and finish are noticeably better, combined with soft-touch materials at key touchpoints and contrast stitching for a little visual pizzazz.

Two-tone cloth seats provide increased side support and comfort for longer trips, compared with the base version. In the back, the bench is also generously accommodating for a vehicle of this size, with its under-thigh support (often a sore pernt in compact SUVs).

Smart storage solutions are abundant in the cabin, with the cooled center console and generously sized door pockets large enough for larger water bottles.

The biggest surprise to me has been the greatly reduced NVH from the previous model. Extra sound deadening and a stiffer structure make the cabin feel as refined as a car from a segment above.

Technology Integration

Mahindra XUV 3XO- The highlight of the XUV 3XO includes the premium infotainment system with a innovative touch screen interface and wireless mobile phone integration.

The personalised display themes enable drivers to tailor the graphics in the instrument binnacle to their liking and the integrated voice assistant accepts input in natural language and understands everything.

The cockpit is also furnished with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster which provides important rev-counter data that’s clear and easily legible, and which can be configured in a number of ways according to the driver’s preference, prioritising navigation, performance or efficiency information.

Another useful cooperation of a modern convenience is the wireless charging pad, placed perfectly to avoid overheating the device.

Higher trims even gain access to advanced driver assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control, all of which are less common at this price point.

The 360o camera system is extremely helpful when parking, showing you an amalgamated overhead view with active guidelines.

Performance Dynamics

Under the bonnet, the XUV 3O comes with a variety of powertrains to suit all kinds of drivers. The spruced up turbo-petrol engine feels lively and offers nice throttle response along with mid-range punch, and the diesel is as desirable for those seeking economy on longer drives.

Either engine can be mated to a direct-shifting 6-speed manual transmission, or an ultra-efficient automatic that offers a Sportmatic mode, complete with paddle shifters for drivers who prefer to shift gears themselves on occasion.

Drive modes—Eco, City, and Sport—greatly change throttle response, shock tuning, and gearbox shift patterns in correspondence with the different driving atmospheres.

The chassis refinements are worth the most attention, as the 86 has a perfect blend of ride quality and handling precision.

Cities are where dampers really have to work well, and this suspension soaks up broken pavement nicely while keeping its head when you get stupid-chargie in corners.

The weighting of the steering system is just about right, and there’s enough tactile feedback for the XUV 3OO to surprise you on a twisty road.

Safety Credentials

Mahindra XUV 3XO- Occupant protection has been Mahindra’s first priority and the U321 features an ultra high-strength steel safety cage with crumple zones at both ends.

Finally, in case of a collision, several airbags – including additional side and curtain protection on more expensive models – offer strong occupant protection.

Safety kit such as automatic stability control, hill start assistance and traction control is standard throughout the spectrum, too.

All four corners feature disc brakes and offer confident stopping power, especially under heavy loads, while the tire pressure monitoring system alerts you to under or over-inflated tires.

Ownership Experience

Apart from the product, Mahindra has sweetened the deal by offering long warranty package plus optimized service intervals, ensuring owners have the peace of long term longevity without having to pay hefty sums every few months.

The integrated smartphone App provides on-the-go connectivity to the A8, and allows for remote access to the vehicle, in addition to providing car status reports, service appointments, and maintenance notifications.

Market Positioning

The Stiff Competition The XUV 3XO arrives in a segment that is crowded with great options and demanding customer requirements.

Instead of playing the specs or price game, Mahindra has built a unique product that has more to offer than feature checklists.

Good To be fair to Jaguar I must point out that there’s more to an XF than the numbers The focused approach on driving dynamics, an elegant cabin and the amount of gadgets on offer, make a strong argument to those looking for a sense of occasion beyond the spec sheet.

Mahindra XUV 3XO:

The Mahindra XUV 3XO is not just a new car, but its also Mahindra ultimate attempt to prove themselves as a ground breaking manufacturer, which is one step ahead of just being a part of the compact SUV market in the country.

Mahindra product planners must now be crowing with delight because the new Thar has indeed turned out to be all of this and more, and in doing so is a car that forces even the most conservative of buyers, ones those who’ve only ever bought cars from the old ‘ Big Three ‘ to take a serious look at it.

With evolving urban mobility requirements and increasingly demanding consumers, the XUV 3OO represents Mahindra’s recognition that mere meeting, is no longer enough to attract buyers in this space.

For those who are prepared to step outside the box of traditional vehicle options, the XUV 3XO represents an appealingly unique alternative that manages to blend sensibility with spirit — a rare feat at any price.
